Instagram may soon introduce a TikTok-Style vertical feed for Stories to improve user experience. The users can swipe up and down to browse through Instagram stories.
Alessandro Paluzzi was the first to spot the new feature and his screenshots on twitter reveal about the new features. The screenshot reveals that the users can see a short intro given by Instagram about its Vertical Stories feed. The pop-up reads, “Swipe up and down to browse stories”.
A Instagram spokesperson told TechCrunch that it is working on the feature but it is not available for public usage as of now. “This is an early prototype and is not currently testing on Instagram.”
The upcoming feature will prove to be more convenient to use as this is how the mobile users navigate through most of the feed on Instagram, Facebook and even YouTube.
The update would leave Instagram with a much cleaner and, more importantly, clearer UI for users to navigate.
“We hear from our community that they want to see fewer feed posts in stories. During this test, you won’t be able to add a feed post to your story,” an Instagram notification read.
Instagram is also rolling out a new layout for viewing stories on the desktop. So now the Instagram stories are shown in a more user-friendly way.
Short video making app Instagram Reels is rolling out a new update allowing users to make 30-second videos instead of 15 seconds and the the company has also increased the timer from 3 seconds to 10 seconds. It is also adding trim and delete clips options to make editing simpler.
