WhatsApp will stop working for some iPhone and Android Users from January 1

The popular messaging application will stop working on some Android and iPhone smartphones, due to updates to both operating systems and applications to keep up to date.

As per reports, WhatsApp will not be available on devices that are not running iOS 9 or Android 4.0.3 operating systems. The messaging application will not work from January 1, 2021.

WhatsApp always suggested downloading the latest version of Android and iOS to enjoy the updated features of WhatsApp. Some older devices will still be able to access WhatsApp by updating to the latest software. Now WhatsApp has updated the feature to work with latest operating systems.

WhatsApp will only be compatible with phones running Android 4.0.3 operating system or newer and For iPhones, the devices that are not running iOS 9.

If Users are using the Models 4S, 5, 5S, 5C, 6 and 6S will need to update their operating system to iOS 9 or later to continue using WhatsApp.

The users who have the option of updating their phones to the latest software can do that. But for those, who do not have the option of updating their software, will have to get a new phone to access WhatsApp on their phones.

If anyone don’t want to lose your chats, you’re advised to back up your WhatsApp messages so they won’t be lost.

iPhone users go to Settings > General > Information to find out software version on your iPhone. Android users go to Settings > About Phone to find out OS version running on your smartphone
